The Karen Community Farm at Oaky Grove strives to provide a space for the Karen community to come and gain access to support that addresses the barriers that many of them face in every day life.

Members of the Karen community resettled from Burma to Thai refugee camps and ultimately to the United States as refugees from civil war and persecution.
Resettlement to a third country comes with an enormous amount of barriers. Language barriers are the biggest. Learning to speak, read and write in English is a huge undertaking.
Not to mention technology, cultural and racial barriers the Karen community face every day.
KCFOG provides space for Karen culture to be expressed and cultivated through farming, community gatherings, youth and adult programs and more!
